The role of intensive care unit in management of trauma patients

The aim of this article is to review the role of the intensive care units in a hospital environment, particularly in emergency and injury management. Furthermore, it describes the different procedure s of monitoring, and the need of a multidisciplinary team required in the assessment of the critically ill patient. Finally, the authors also emphasize the guidelines applied in the organ procurement program.
