    Mariana Bolfarine holds a PhD (2015) in the area of English Language and Literary Studies from the University of São Paulo, and has been a research fellow at the National University of Ireland, Maynooth - NUIM (2013-2014). She is a member of the board of the Brazilian Association of Irish Studies (ABEI). She is currently teaching at Instituto Federal de São Paulo (IFSP), and operates in the area of post-colonial literatures in English, with emphasis on fictional representations of the Irish revolutionary Roger
    Casement. She has translated the following books into Portuguese: Roger Casement in Brazil: Rubber, the Amazon and the Atlantic World 1884-1916, by Angus Mitchell,
    edited by Dr. Laura Izarra (2010) and co-edited the Amazon Journal of Roger Casement (2016).
