Abstract: The main goal of this essay is to analyze how the newspaper O Estado de S. Paulo in the role of a non-governmental political performer explained and placed itself in the view of the international political actions during Jânio Quadros and João Goulart´s administrative periods pro Africa. For this cause it focuses on the Brazilian government in the face of the des-colonization of Africa during the period, which ranges from 1961 to 1964. The central issue is the fact that the international policies acted by the Brazilian government – due to modifications in the internal administration during the period above mentioned and the changes of Estate Chiefs and Ministers and administrations – established a very narrow relation to the written press.Downloads
