This paper presents some partial research results derived from the analyses of the discussions held on the Brazilian Chamber of Deputies between 1840 at 1850, specialy the debates concerning the establishment of a provincial determination of the country's currency. The data concerning this discussion will be presented in my dissertation called "Nas asas de Dédalo", to be presented in 2008. This paper aims to understand the political arguments used by those who defended the idea of localizing the currency in the 19th century.Downloads
