In this essay, I explore the forms of education, government, and socialization of children and teenagers in the post-apocalyptic TV show The Walking Dead. I use the concepts of complex narrative, necropolitics, and unconscious/desiring-production to answer the following question: how does our collective unconscious imagine the problem of government and socialization of children and teenagers for the end of the world? The inquiry points to a pedagogy of image centered on economic rationality, an identification between war and politics, in which the survival of communities depends on the physical elimination of others.
