The cladistic analysis of the Tetralobini, based on the study of 47 morphological characters, resulted in the recognition of the following genera: Piezophyllus Hope, 1842; Paratetralobus Laurent, 1964(stat.n);Neotetralobus Girard, 1987; Pseudotetralobus Schwarz, 1902; Pseudalaus Laurent, 1967; Tetralobus Le Peletier & A. Serville, 1825 and Sinelater Laurent, 1967 (stat.n). The subtribes Piezophyllina and Tetralobina are separated by several synapomorphies. The two subgenera of Piezophyllus erected by Laurent, 1967 cannot be maintained and are synonimyzed. Tetralobus, sensu Laurent 1967, is a paraphyletic taxon and its three subgenera are elevated to the generic status; the type-material of the subgenus Dodecamerus Laurent, 1968 was not seen and it is not included in this analysis. The taxa are redefined and redescribed. A key to subtribes and genera is provided.Downloads
