The geology of the Cahama region - geologic map of Angola Sheet nº 399 - is presented in this paper. The principal lithologic units are summarily defined, and the following stratigraphic column was established for the region using Rb/Sr dates. Cahama granite ~ 420 m.y. (?) Alkaline granite ~ 740 m.y. Norite ~ 800 m.y. Granite porphyry ~ 1300 m.y. Red granites ~ 1300 m.y. Chela Group >; 1480 m.y. Leucocratic granite ~ 1700 m.y. Graphic granite ~ 1800 m.y. Metasomatised gabbro, and granodiorite ~ 1800 m.y. Gabbros and anorthosites >; 2200 m.y.
