Abstract

The main scope of this note is to register, for the first time, the presence of an interesting and curious singenetic depositional feature here named "boudinoid" structure. It was assumed that its origin is related to a double action process, formed of a lateral component (sliding) followed of vertical component (squeezing of excess of water accompanied by a diapirism-like phenomenon). This structure, associated with other features observed in the Santo Anastácio Formation type-section, here proposed, allowed us to suggest a hot and dry paleoclimate, probably semi-arid, during its deposition.
