This report aims to contribute to discussions about the impact of covid-19 in Cape Verde, an African archipelago. Being the flows the roots of this young nation, I started from the tourism boom in the country to analyze the breaking expectations and changes caused by the coronavirus pandemic, once it represented 20% of the national GDP over the last decade. As a result, I address the situation of a specific group (women who previously worked with the production and sale of handicrafts to tourists) to explore, from the point of view of practical life, the changes brought by the pandemic in their lives.
