Author Biography

  • Eduardo Zanella, Universidade do Vale do Rio dos Sinos

     He holds a degree in Social Sciences, a master's and doctorate in Social Anthropology, with training in multiprofessional residency with an emphasis on Health Surveillance. He studied the production of knowledge about psychoactive substances in the field of medical sciences, with ethnographic fieldwork alongside a group of psychiatrists and the reemergence of the syphilis epidemic in Brazil, based on the history of disease indicators and their inclusion in public debate. He is currently a postdoctoral researcher in the Public Health Graduate Program at UNISINOS, under the supervision of Professor José Roque Junges, where he conducts research on the tensions between Primary Health Care and Health Surveillance in syphilis control strategies in São Leopoldo, Rio Grande do Sul.
