Abstract

This work examines a certain concept of how human beings interact with images. The first topic of analysis is based on the interpretation of the story (book and film) on Vermeer's painting Girl with a pearl earring. The second and more conceptual topic of analysis incorporates the findings of Jacques Lacan on the visual field, mostly emphasizing the effects of introducing the element desire in this field.
