This article discusses the direct cinema in the 1960s. Since thedevelopment of equipment that allowed synchronous recording of image andsound taken outdoors. It establishes relations between Brazilian films in theperiod and social research undertaken in São Paulo. It analyzes the importanceof registration of the word in Brazilian documentary and in social sciences anddescribes an experiment that unified research and audiovisual, in a projectdeveloped in Santa Brigida, Bahia, by researchers from the University of SãoPaulo.Downloads
