Abstract

Globalization and the emergence of the European Union have propelled the topic of immigration to the center of the current political climate. In this historical context, museums about immigration are springing up everywhere, comparable to history and sociological museums. In France, the Cité nationale de l’Histoire de l’Immigration has opened its doors. This is a museum that presents a historical and cultural approach to immigration as well as contemporary works of art dealing with the theme of
immigration.
