This article aims, firstly, to establish some elements of Roland Barthes' didactic method in his seminars at the École de Hautes Études en Sciences Sociales, where he was Director of Studies from 1962 to 1977. To do this, we start with his texts on didactics (such as Lesson and “Au séminaire”), then we discuss his theoretical bases (Benveniste, Nietzsche and Bataille), for finally describe documentary research of the notes for the seminars “The thesis and research” (1972-1973), “The author's lexicon” (1973-1974) and “The amorous discourse” (1974-1976). We then report on two experiences of applying this method at the University of São Paulo, in the courses “French Novel 2” (2018) and “French Narrative” (2022).
