In an attempt to respond to a call for papers related to irruption and reaction in the academic environment, I tried to capture not antagonistic elements, but an intertwined bond of monstrosity and love, that happens even in myself. Therefore, I centered the discussion on two literary texts focused on family relationships, betting that, by looking at this environment in which affection and pain are combined in the formation of people, I can raise points to reflect on the university, this alma mater. Merging the reading of the works with autobiographical episodes, I pay particular attention to the lively character of filiation, in which children and students can soon take the place of parents and teachers. This dynamic could perhaps generate a more loving look at the other and also a recognition of the monstrous heritage in oneself.
