This article proposes a theoretical-practical reflection on the mechanisms mobilized in the translation activity of Henri Meschonnic's poetic work (1932-2009) into Portuguese. Our goal is to observe the continuity that exists between the writing of poems and the theoretical essays and biblical translations carried out by the French poet and translator, and then, through a theoretical-practical translational experimentation, to continue Meschonnic's legacy in Brazil. In this sense, the study will be developed around three stages. The first deals with the status of Meschonnic's work in Brazil. The second addresses a poetics of continuity that characterizes the style and thought of the French poet. The third involves the execution of a theoretical-practical experience with the translation of excerpts from Meschonnic's poems into the Portuguese language. The set of reflections developed here aims to provide means for integrating the poetic work of the poet into the broader movement that continues Meschonnic's work in Brazil.
