Fénelon, Telemachus, son of Ulysses, utopiaAbstract
One of the permanent problems concerning the interpretation of The adventures of Telemachus, son of Ulysses is its classification: mirror for princes, philosophical short story, novel or epic are some of the genres used to discuss Fénelon’s text. This article intends to investigate this problem, presenting the history of the criticism and the editing of The adventures of Telemachus and giving continuity to an aspect of its reading based on utopian thinking, which emerged at the end of the last century.
