Impacto do Programa Cisternas nas Escolas sobre condições de infraestrutura e desempenho

Este estudo avalia os efeitos do Programa Cisterna nas Escolas sobre indicadores de infraestrutura escolar e indicadores educacionais. Com informações longitudinais de escolas rurais do semiárido brasileiro para 2007–2016 estimaram-se modelos de diferenças em diferença, ponderados por escore de propensão, com controle para a heterogeneidade do tempo de exposição ao tratamento. Os resultados apontam que política de acesso hídrico promove melhorias em infraestrutura básica para um ambiente escolar mais saudável, reduz a taxa de abandono no ensino fundamental em cerca de 28% e aumenta a taxa de aprovação escolar em cerca de 38 %.
