Call for Papers – Special Issue "Monetary Economics and Banking: Essays in Honor of Bruno Rocha"
Estudos Econômicos invites submissions for the special issue Monetary Economics and
Banking: Essays in Honor of Bruno Rocha. We welcome original and unpublished research articles – whether theoretical, empirical, or both – that address topics within monetary economics and banking from either a microeconomic or macroeconomic perspective.
The special issue is scheduled for publication in the second half of 2026. Professors Mauro Rodrigues and Marcio Nakane (University of São Paulo) will serve as Guest Editors.
Manuscripts may be written in English or Portuguese and should not exceed 30 pages. The review process will follow an “up-or-out” format: based on referees’ recommendations, submissions will either be rejected or invited for minor revisions only.
Submission deadline: January 26, 2026

About Professor Bruno Rocha
Bruno de Paula Rocha completed his PhD in Economics at the University of São Paulo in 2007.
He held academic positions at the Federal University of Minas Gerais and the Federal University
of ABC, both in Brazil. His research spanned Applied Macroeconomics, Monetary Economics and Banking, with significant contributions focused on the Brazilian context. Over his career, he advised more than 40 students and served as an associate editor of Estudos Econômicos.
Professor Rocha sadly passed away in 2024 at the age of 45.
