The meaning of the expression yamato damashii,Japanese spirit, was distorted throughout History and was used, during World War II,with a nationalist connotation which completely misrepresented its original conception. This essay aims, then, rescue the first ideas which are associated with it, through some of the most representative pieces of Japanese literature.Downloads
