The life history method has effects in migration researches. But in the case of the life history of immigrants, most of them deals with the theme of “successful history” or “unsuccessful history” This study shows the formation and the transformation of the Oriental Town by means of the analysis of a Japanese merchant’s life history, here named K. This study presents an immigrant image that is different not only of the “adaptation and assimilation” model but also of “success” and “unsuccess” models.Téléchargements
