"Francis Wolff a développé une ontologie qui repose sur une certaine conception, indissociablement sémantique et métaphysique, du principe de non-contradiction. Son ontologie part du principe que « le monde n’est pas contradictoire ». C’est là, écrit-il, «sa caractéristique la plus générale et la moins douteuse ». Le principe de non- contradiction est donc « le principe fondamental de notre monde ». Francis Wolff explicite sa thèse de manière « quasi-modale » : le principe de non-contradiction est nécessairement celui de tout monde, une loi ontologique."
