The propose of this study was to compare the electrical activity of the vastus medialis oblique (VMO) and vastus lateralis oblique (VLO) in the isometric exercise of Knee extension at 90º associated with medial and lateral tibial rotation, in closed kinetic chain (CKC) performed in the Leg Press equipment, in patients with Patellofemoral dysfunction (PFD). Three of them had both knees evaluated (composing 12 knees at all), between 19 and 25 years old (21,55+_1,87). The analysis of the electrical acitivity of the VMO and VLO muscles was obtained by the Sign Conditioning Module (MSC 1000-V2) with 16 channels. To the caption of the action potentials of the studied muscle, surface differential electrodes were used. The stastical analysis applied was the Anova One Way, p<0,05. The result showed that the electrical acitivity of the muscle VMO and VLO was not different significant in the lateral tibial rotation inter and intramuscles. The result of this research, within the experimental conditions, suggests that the purpose exercises for the subjects with PFD generate a similar recruitment standard for both VMO and VLO muscles.Downloads
