Proposal: Describes the research for the development of a theoretical framework to help architects in the application of Information Technology (IT) to urban projects. Methods: In the developed framework, electronic components such as microprocessors, sensors, displays, tags, actuators, etc., were regarded as means of invigorating urban places in conjunction with physical refurbishment. Focusing on the potential within IT components to promote qualities such as territoriality, privacy, identity and ambience, three case studies where the framework was applied by architects and the results of their project are analysed. Findings: It has been concluded that there are reasons for appropriately deploying IT based on the nature of the place and the activities that happen within it. Conclusions are drawn and possible new researches suggested. Key-words: Ubiquitous Computing, Urban Project, Architecture .Downloads
