Abstract

The book A experiência da imagem na etnografia (The experience of image in ethnography), result of research conducted by GRAVI - Group of Visual Anthropology / USP, approaches, from articles and films, the most diverse uses of the image within an anthropological perspective, looking for new languages and visual possibilities for ethnography.

Author Biography

  • Carolina Junqueira dos Santos, University of São Paulo

    Doutora em Artes pela Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais (UFMG), com estágio na Université de Strasbourg. Desenvolveu uma vasta pesquisa sobre o universo das fotografias familiares memoriais e post-mortem, junto com diversos estudos sobre morte e representação do corpo desaparecido. É pós-doutoranda no Departamento de Antropologia da Universidade de São Paulo (USP), e realiza atualmente um estágio de pesquisa na École des Hautes Études en Sciences Sociales, em Paris, com financiamento da Fapesp, desenvolvendo pesquisas sobre monumentos e memoriais aos mortos. É pesquisadora do Grupo de Antropologia Visual (Gravi) da USP.
