This article seeks to build bridges between anthropology and computer science, refining the understanding of transdisciplinarity that informs the critical proposition on the development of artificial intelligence, particularly with regard to facial recognition techniques. Framed from within, this technology is analyzed through the lens of its production of knowledge on machine learning, supported by anthropological approaches to actor-network theory, discussions on object, agency, and relationships between humans and non-humans. The purpose is to enable this alliance between areas to challenge the very understanding of what ethics is, how the incorporation of ethics is consciously constrained, and what configures ethical and responsible practice in the scope of the development and application of algorithms, ultimately undermining current perspectives that reduce ethics to the direct, visible effects of communication technologies.
