Abstract

The polemics about the human status of the Indians and about their aptitude for being converted to Christíanity, which opposed European thinkers to one another in the 16 century, were greatly enriched by the publication of the first Indian language gram mars, which revealed that those languages are not in an inferiority condition to wards Latin and European modern languages.
