A framework of the work of Gaius Julius Caesar, the Commentarii de Bello Gallico and the Bellum Ciuile, within the characteristics of the nascent historiographic genre in Rome, requires a comparative study of both the methodology of Historiography as a scientific discourse, as the submission, as a literary genre. An assessment following the principles and procedures of the rhetoric reveals processes of justification and veridiction, appreciable by modern Semiotics. The masking of the rhetorical processes leads, by the pragmatic, to axioms that are below the text, giving the impression of impartiality. These courses explain the ideological use of History as propaganda.Downloads
