O lampião da rua e a floresta: a gramática alegórica de Oswaldo Goeldi

Abstract

The study of Oswaldo Goeldi’s illustrations enables an inter semiotic perspective for the studies of Brazilian Modernism. This study enables, on the one hand, to research the thematic and discursive relationships that influence the images, and, on the other hand, to perceive the imagetic and allegoric contents of the texts. Art and literature are no longer hierarchized – the writer tutoring the artist – as interpretation of one and the same period.
