In this article some Confucian propositions on language existing in the Analects (Lun Yu), the main work written by Confucius (551 – 479 B.C.), are analyzed. The prudent use of it in communication is especially emphasized. There are also examples of some contrasting positions of the Taoism on this issue.Downloads
