Abstract

Two narratives for children produced in Brazil during the first half of the twentieth century can be read in conjunction with a bias that focuses on historical analysis. Produced at times of troubled history, they are indicative of a moment of Children Literature in which political engagement has just been revealed through texts that, so subliminal, reveal ideological positions of opposing camps
