Katherine Mansfield sings in the deep ocean

January 2023 marks the 100th anniversary of Katherine Mansfield's death. Although 62 of her poems were published under the title Poems in the year of her death, and dozens more came to light in 1990, up to the total of 217 gathered in The Collected Poems of Katherine Mansfield (2016), no Brazilian publisher has released a volume of Mansfieldian poetry. Translation studies published in a sparse way have brought single or serial poems to the archive accessible online. But there has not yet been a Brazilian edition of a title such as, in Argentina, Pájaro de invierno (Maravilla), a bilingual anthology awarded by the Asociación de Literatura Infantil y Juvenil de la Argentina (ALIJA), in the category of best translated book of the period 2020–2021. Also in Argentina, the bilingual anthology Té de manzanilla and other 29 poems (Bajolaluna) appeared in 2006, republished in 2018. Here, the publishing market only relaunches the writer's short stories, almost always the same ones (although in new translations), also ignoring part of her production in this genre. This article proposes to think about what this panorama informs about the way Katherine Mansfield's archive has circulated in Brazil.
