Os segredos da pílula vermelha: machismo e imaginação reacionária na internet

Résumé

O movimento “red pill” (pílula vermelha) adquiriu celebridade instantânea graças a episódio recente de discussão pública na Internet entre a comediante Livia La Gatto e o coach Thiago Schultz. Partindo desse episódio, o objetivo deste trabalho é analisar a origem e os mitologemas da “filosofia” red pill, mostrando seu pertencimento a um imaginário neoconservador mais amplo, caracterizado por noções e práticas microfascistas e por uma singular concepção de temporalidade, distendida entre o passado mais remoto e o futuro mais tecnológico.

  • Erick Felinto, Universidade do Estado do Rio de Janeiro

    Doutor em Letras pela Universidade do Estado do Rio de Janeiro (1998). Realizou estágio de Pós-Doutoramento Sênior na Universität der Künste Berlin sobre Teorias da Mídia alemães (2010–2011). Pesquisador do CNPq e Professor Titular da Universidade do Estado do Rio de Janeiro, onde leciona no Programa de Pós-Graduação em Comunicação Social. Também é professor colaborador do Programa de Pós-Graduação em Estudos de Literatura da UFF.
