“Let there be light”: the revelation of memory through the photographic light in Regresso ao Éden, by Paco Roca.

Paco Roca is known for approach the theme of memory in his comic-books. In Regresso ao Éden (2022), the narrative of memory is told through the photos present in the album. In this regard, the objective of this work is to analyze how the author uses the memory through the photographs of the comic-book, using its structure to configure a graphic composition that is similar to an analog camera. In this perspective, it is important to analyze the thematic and structural dialogues between the medias from the perspective of the photographic act and the relations involving the affect issue of the memory and loss. In addition, it will be necessary to consider the photoliterary studies to investigate the meanings that the photos generate in the comic-book and resume the intermedia. Thus, these studies will contribute to the dialogue between photography and comics, aiming to verify their complementarity.
