Dialectics of time(s): exploring temporalities in Watchmen (Moore/Gibbons)

It analyzes the first issue of Watchmen (Sept. 1986), then a minisseries by Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons. Guided by the historiographical framework of the History of the Present Time, the study aims to understand how the authors handle and establish temporal relationships in their narrative, mediated by elements inherited from the processes of the 20th century, such as memories, traumas, and various social, cultural, and political experiences. As part of the methodological approach to the object, the concept of anachronism, as formulated by Georges Didi-Huberman, is employed to highlight the temporal relationships presented in the work. Finally, based on the findings, the study aims to examine the hypothesis of François Hartog regarding presentism as the prevailing regime of historicity.
