Notes towards a historical study of the comic book Pepín

It presents a preliminary approach to reconstructing the history of Pepín, one of the most representative publications of Mexican comics during the so-called Golden Age, which spanned from the 1930s to the 1950s. By consulting all available issues held at the Hemeroteca Nacional de México - approximately 2,500 comic books -, the study reconstructs its editorial trajectory, identifies its main contents, and examines its connection to the social context of the time. The aim is to highlight the relevance of Pepín within popular print culture and to lay the groundwork for broader research.
