Rosie Sherwood describes herself as “an artist and writer focused on interdisciplinary practices”. She works with themes such as evanescence and disappearance, producing works with holes and transparencies. Her works explore different media and languages, with the recurrence of printed objects. In these objects, it is possible to highlight five works that use elements from comic books as their core topic. These works raise questions about the limits of this media and propose contaminations with graphic arts and sculpture, expanding all areas involved. From a perspective that consists of the theory of the expanded field of arts, the objective here is to analyse how, in these five works, the author develops the themes of emptiness as a graphic, poetic, and discursive tool, while expands the possibilities of the comics language through contamination with other arts.
