Abstract

This paper correlates the historical formation of the radio journalism with the podcast, pointing at what are the institutionalized characteristics that remains in new practices and which ones must be revisited. Brazilian radio favours the hard news model, i.e., live coverage and voices of specialists and interviews, supported by hasty agendas, a direct consequence of the insignificant amount of more elaborated productions in the radio output. Asynchronous platforms such as podcast, on its turn, characterize new Media Listening Experience (MLE), a result of contemporary “structures of feeling” determined by technological mediation of everyday practices and by emerging relations of representativeness, leading to a new logic of news consumption. We selected a podcast from CBN, Vozes: histórias e reflexões, as example for a model that retains the radio-journalistic tradition of special reportages, while breaking the established paradigm to propose a new order of production and consumption incentive.
