Abstract

One of the elements of the success of the TV series Stranger Things is the mosaic of nostalgic references, especially in relation to the 1980’s, as demonstrated in the essays that analyze the TV series. This paper reviews those essays to introduce the full scope reached by the use of nostalgia as a resource in the creative process of the TV series. The results show how different perspectives about nostalgia identified in these essays converge in two points: in an idealist recreation of the 1980’s and in the tribute for the origin of the so-called geek culture.
