PRESENTATION

Diversity and social inclusion are topics that have gained centrality in the organizational world, reflecting the social, cultural and political transformations of recent decades. However, the consolidation of inclusive practices faces significant challenges, especially in a global scenario marked by setbacks and polarizations. An emblematic example was the announcement by US President Donald Trump, who cut investments in actions aimed at diversity, minorities and inclusion, leading several companies to abandon their policies in this area. This episode highlights how isolated and discontinued actions are not enough to build a truly inclusive and equitable organizational culture.

In this context, Organizational Communication and Community Public Relations emerge as strategic axes for the consolidation of diversity and inclusion policies. Community Public Relations, in particular, stands out for its ability to build authentic and sustainable dialogues between organizations and communities, promoting the active participation of historically marginalized groups and strengthening bonds based on mutual respect and collaboration.

This thematic dossier of the journal Organicom invites researchers to reflect on the role of organizational communication and public relations in promoting diversity and inclusion. We are looking for articles that explore, in a critical and proactive manner, how organizations can use communication strategies to face challenges such as structural racism, gender inequality, the exclusion of people with disabilities and LGBTphobia, among other forms of discrimination.

In addition, the dossier aims to discuss how communication can be a tool for cultural transformation, contributing to the creation of inclusive policies, the formation of diverse leaders and the promotion of dialogues that expand the representation and participation of all social groups. In a world marked by polarizations and setbacks in relation to human rights, this debate becomes urgent and necessary.
