Investigating the integration of Rosa Mística Community with Riacho das Piabas in Campina Grande, Paraíba, based on configurational and behavioral analyses

Bodies of water play a key role in the dynamics of the urban environment, serving various functions and contributing to a positive relationship between human and water within urban areas. In this sense, this article seeks to evaluate the integration of the Rosa Mística Community with the Piabas Creek in the city of Campina Grande, using the Space Syntax Theory approach. The methodological process took place in five stages: data collection and selection; preparation of georeferenced maps; configurational analysis; behavioral analysis; and evaluation of the spatial and visual integration of the community with the Piabas Creek. The results obtained indicate that the low level of physical and visual integration between the Rosa Mística Community and the Piabas Creek impairs not only its appropriation by residents, but also their relationship with the body of water as a whole.
