Roughnesses reveal the history of the place

The research seeks to understand the logic of the deployment of equipment and public spaces in the city of Sorocaba, in 2006, became a member of AICE – International Association of Educating Cities. Analyzed spaces and symbols of the city, bearing material and symbolic culture, cutting the Plaza of São Bento and Cel. Fernando Prestes Square, owing to the deep historic relations and complementarity between these two spaces, represent the genesis of urban morphology, allowing focus them on their potential educators. The meaning educator in research does not bind the subject content as in schools, being more articulate tacit knowledge. The choice of Sorocaba due to its inclusion in the AICE allowing for seven years studying some areas previously established and why they were created in the city four screenplays educators who have sought to positively transform the sphere of public life by his bias educator. Seeking to dispel the notion of “space,” something soulless and history, were worked the roughness, as palimpsests, leave the urban environment the marks of history that reveal bygone events, becoming objects informative and educational.
