The loss of a heritage landscape: Rui Barbosa square, Bauru-SP

Abstract

The article reports the implications of a landscape project execution from 1991, in Bauru city, a São Paulo´s countryside, which incorporates as central problem the revitalization of urban centers. It questions the value of concepts and methods used in this project and it intent to give supply to the comprehension that the destruction of the first spacial configuration brought a lost which representes an important simbolic value. It contextualize the criation of the project implanted in the beggining of the 20th century, as though as its caracteristics and the ones refered to the project built in the end of the same century, 1991, on an historical view.
