Abstract

The interest of Family Therapy in the process of meaning construction has been increasing, especially since the development of post-modern perspectives. The present study comes from an interest in those new views and aims at discussing the process of construction of narratives about the adolescent in the family therapy context. Thus, it describes the evolution of the cybernetic thought and makes reference to Constructivism and Social Constructionism. This study points to the importance of narratives in therapy context, not just as a source of information, but also as a starting-point of the process of change.
