Abstract

Emotional intelligence is perhaps the most popular psychological concept at the end of the 20th century. Surrounded more by expectative than scientific evidence, emotional intelligence still don't get precise definition and psychometric validity as to be considered a kind of intelligence. The paper presents, based in recent studies, a critical reflection about emotional intelligence and the available instruments to measure it and provides some directions for future researches.
