Abstract

As an introduction, this paper discusses some concepts that have a multidisciplinar use and therefore have been used in this research. Then, the author coments the results of field work in which an etnographic approach was utilized. The focus of the investigation is the subject's life trajectory, as it is impacted by the process of urbanization of Santa Catarina Island.
