Saúde Mental de Profissionais e Estudantes de Psicologia Brasileiros: Uma Análise Comparativa

Universitários e profissionais da saúde apresentam maior prevalência de sofrimento mental em comparação à população geral. Este estudo objetivou investigar a prevalência de sintomas de ansiedade, depressão, estresse e qualidade de vida em profissionais e estudantes de psicologia brasileiros e verificar se há diferenças na intensidade dos sintomas entre as duas amostras. Participaram 2.324 indivíduos, que responderam a um questionário sociodemográfico, ao instrumento de avaliação da qualidade de vida WHOQOL-Bref e à Depression, Anxiety & Stress Scale. Os resultados revelaram uma alta prevalência de sintomas de depressão (50%) e ansiedade (45,8%) entre os estudantes de psicologia, valores mais de duas vezes superiores aos observados nos profissionais, dos quais 20% relataram sintomas de depressão e 12,7% de ansiedade. Ambos os grupos relataram um nível satisfatório (acima de 80 pontos) de qualidade de vida geral. Conclui-se que intervenções direcionadas ao autocuidado são essenciais esses grupos que cuidam da saúde mental da população.
