Reflexões sobre o conceito de informação audiodescritiva na Ciência da Informação

Abstract

Partial results of the thesis research developed on Programa de Pós-graduação em Ciência da Informação da Universidade Federal da Bahiaindicatethe possibility of dialogue between Audio-description and Information Science.From the proposition and development of the concept of audio-descriptive information,and from the consideration on the digital preservation and safeguard of audio-described contents produced by research groups and nuclei of the Federal and State Universities, it is argued on the long-term access to the memory of the Brazilian audio-descriptive production. The debate on the need for dialogue is justified because of the urgency of minimizing the informational deficit in the field of Audio-description, since up to date the professionals do not act efficiently in order to preserve the contents produced. In proposing the development of a concept of audio-descriptive information, the purpose is to analyzehow Information Science professionals, and their experience in disseminating and recording information, can assist in the scope of Audio-description. The methodology used in the qualitative-quantitative-descriptive research was mainly based on the Marxist dialectic method of approach. The research universe comprised the totalof the Federal Universities and State Universities which develop researches on Audio-description, and the Brazilian postgraduate programs on Information Science; the techniques used were online questionnaires and participant observation about the use of digital repository, in which the related environment tests will permit make suggestion for the improvementofRepositório Legatum Sonus et Imago; qualitative procedures resulting from discourse analysis, as well as charts and tables and other infographics, will be applied to the collected data. It should be observed that the preliminary resultswere the relevanceof the dialogue between Information Science area and the Audio-description field,and so the development of the concept of audio-descriptive information, which provides for a reflection in relation to the actions of digitalpreservation and safeguarding policies for such contents, permittingaccess to the Audio-description memory over a long period of time.
