Cultura e Extensão como um dos Pilares da Universidade: Projeto Livro, Leitor e Leitura
Abstract
It introduces a reflection on the importance of extension activities as one of the pillars of the University, aiming to present the benefits of reading and the importance of books for the development of society, with the main purpose of implementing the Book, Reader and Reading Project (PL3) in the Department of Information and Culture (CBD) of the School of Communications and Arts of the University of São Paulo. We seek the involvement of students, teachers, library professionals and the external community for an effective exchange of experiences through culture and university extension. The methodology is based on a theoretical framework developed through a bibliographic survey guided by exploratory research, having as central themes: Information, Reading Encouragement and Culture and University Extension. Based on this instrument, it is expected to establish a connection between the country's socioeconomic and cultural development and the encouragement of reading in primary and secondary education, through a project that encompasses university and society. Understanding the role of libraries as an agent of social transformation and dissemination of reading and knowledge, it is expected to present a project outline that transforms the ways of interaction of children with the library in the creation and appropriation of knowledge. In addition to storytelling, the project proposes activities related to the methodology of educational work in libraries, along with workshops and games, always seeking the insertion and active participation of children in actions to encourage reading. Considering the project proposed herein, we aim at its high potential for replicability and dissemination, capable of being passed on by several generations of students in a continuous process of improvement, during the experience of participating in the project and contributing to the intersection of factors that lead to the formation of a bookworm.
