Abstract

This article intends to compose the concept of linguistic consciousness by analyzing cerebral language processes and their classification as either conscious or unconscious. For such, I describe some mental experiments and articles from neurolinguists Peter Indefrey and Willem Levelt about questions on language production and perception. Emphasizing that consciousness plays an active role in linguistic processes, I seek to stress both the role and the notion of consciousness regarding certain linguistic processes
